• The biggest MedTech M&A deals of 2024: With a combined value of $26B, these 5 deals show that the MedTech industry is still definitely alive and kicking! Read more here. Apart from showcasing who’s the who in the industry, M&A deals also shed light on the key sectors that are gaining traction in the industry. 2024 saw more than a 100% increase in the number of M&A transactions in 2023, showing that the industry is becoming more agile and a lot of movement can be anticipated in the future. • $500B investment in AI infrastructure announced: AI is a buzzword thrown around everywhere and it is rightly so. Paving the way for a more AI-integrated future, the new U.S. President announced a $500B investment in AI infrastructure, read more here. This would have direct implications on how AI can be further developed for drug-discovery applications, disease diagnosis and many more. It is certainly a sector to keep your eyes on.

• Singapore’s biotechnology scene: In 2000, the Singapore government chartered a goal to make biomedical research a pillar of the economy.
